Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living.anais nin

mila's recent post got me thinking about my current dilemna.

my hubby and i are making major decisions. we are going to do one more year living and working in this VERY REMOTE place we currently inhabit and then move to somewhere and {yikes} make babies and play with our dogs. i want to begin focusing on only my creative side for a long while and my lovely will be graduating and ready to join the work force {yikes for him}. so we will move somewhere.

well, it's the somewhere that is confusing us. I am a Canadian and feel comfort in cool breeze and snuggling under a blanket with cozy slippers and a fireplace roaring. my mind works wonderfully when the tip of my nose is cold and i have to sip at hot tea {not iced}. my hubby is not Canadian and needs tropical weather 24/7 and craves hot, beaming rays of sunshine. mind you, i dont mind the sun...and adore the beach and ocean...

perhaps, opposites do attract?!

my solution...tasmania...apparently not a solution in the mind of most Aussies. the actual log cabin photos are a house we are looking at buying, 5 minutes from the coast, 10 minutes to a small town.

imagine the decorating opportunities. life in a log cabin. lattes on the veranda, Frisbee with my pups, hot baths in the jacuzzi {on the veranda}

its a confusing/exciting time but am still dreaming and pushing for a basic log cabin life. life is what you make of it and tassie seems to be screaming and bearing open arms for this little canadian to fall full-heartedly into.

I grew up in Tassie but am now so glad I left. It is a nice place to visit but I find it's far too remote and close-minded for me. I would suggest a little country town in Victoria, maybe somewhere along the Great ocean road or the Mornington penninsular? I also love the little twn of Daylesford, it's about 1.5 hrs out of Melbourne and is such a sweet arty/crafty little town, I would love to retire there someday! a lovely blogger Allison from Lark lives there, I think it has a great arty vibe that you would love...

wow the images you put together would tempt me to move to tasmania.

i have never been so i could not really give you an opinion.

i hope you both find somewhere to suit you both. i am sure it will work out quaintly.

Wow, the log cabin looks so amazing! I love all the decorating inspiration you've posted as well, so idyllic, especially the outdoor tub!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment! I love your blog too. I'm going to add you to my blogroll :)

Come on down, it's beautiful! We made the move from Sydney four years ago, and whilst it's not perfect, it's pretty darn close!
